Crime A2 Short Film - Choice

I watched a short crime film called Choice, to help decide whether I want to do a short film, and what genre I want to do. The short film showed a lot of different shot types. I was really intrigued to how they filmed the front view of the gun, with the background. I really like the way that the protagonist zoned out to talk to the camera at times. I found that the film was very carefully planned, also it looked like they must have tried out different shot types. This is shown within the first minute as there is wide shots, close-ups, mid-shots and a tracking shot. The film also had an effective colour gradient to give it a sense of isolation and warmth, as though not everything is bad at the moment. The film also makes us feel sympathy for the girl at the beginning by the way that while he is telling us he doesn't love her, and we can see her in the background.
By watching this film, it has really given me ideas on how i can film things that suit the story idea i have. Overall i think that it has slightly convinced me to do a short story, even though  i am still considering doing a music video.
