HipHop/Rap (How to make a good music video)

I watched this video on how a guy creates music videos for the genre of HipHop & Rap music. I thought that this was very interesting and i like the way that you can turn something so simple, like walking down a set of stairs, to something that looks genuinely quite cool. I think that if i were to do a music video then i will definitely use some of the tips that this guy has given. I really enjoyed the way that he slowed a lot of the clips down where there wasn't anything vocal, to give it an impact and to set the scene. I think this shows that you can take the most common place (i.e. a park) and make it into an amazing music video. I will definitely use a lot of low angle shots to give power to the main singer and then use mid shots when filming the dancers to give them all an equal sense of power. Website Audience Feedback

As explained in my website post, I wanted to gather more audience feedback on whether I can add more pages and sections. I asked a group of 20-30 people and they all said the same this, which was that they liked the page the way it was and didn't think it would be necessary to expand the page, as it is only advertising the music video. They also loved the colours of the page and thought it was very eye-catching. It kept their interest and there wasn't too much stuff that was crowding the page. They also said it was easy to navigate and find exactly what they were looking for. Some of them liked having the music video on a seperate page, but others thought that it should've been the feature of the front page. I understood their point, but I thought it would be best to keep it on a separate page to keep it clean and uncluttered.

Preliminary Task Planning

I have decided for my preliminary task, I will replicate 30 seconds from the song XO Tour Lif3. I realised while watching the video, it is an animation which seems to be copying the theme of the video game: Grand Theft Auto. I initially thought this would be easy to copy, but there seems to be many different variations of angled shots and speeds in each clip. I think I will be able to replicate each shot, but it will be hard, due to the stillness of camera work used to film. I took inspiration from this because it is my chosen music genre and it doesn't have any of the stereotypical traits a rap video would have i.e. alcohol, drugs and sexualising the female body.
